The old Jinshan Temple was a famous temple in Sui and Tang Dynasty. Around that time, the temple occupied a vast area with magnificent architecture, numerous monks and Buddhists. It was ruined in Ming Dynasty.

Today's Qingyun Jinshan Temple was reconstructed in 2004 by lay Qi Suping with a large investment. Jinshan Temple is the largest buddhist temple in Northern China. The temple occupies 2 hectares and several hundreds of resident monks live here. There are more than 20 buildings in the temple including the Main Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the praying hall, the bell tower, the depositary of Buddhist texts, the underground palace, and the abbot homes. The statues of Sakyamuni, made by pure copper, is 8 meters in height and weighs 20 tons. It's currently the nation's largest indoor Buddha Sakyamuni.
