Mount Taishan, with a scenic area of 426 square kilometers and an elevation of 1,545 meters, is located in the middle of Shandong Province. It was listed as World Cultural and Natural Heritage site in 1987 and Global Geopark in 2006, by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
