Dezhou at Earth Hour 2010

The ¡°Earth Hour¡± activity is organized by World Wildlife Fund in a gesture to highlight environmental concerns and to call for a binding pact to cut greenhouse gas emissions. Millions were expected to turn off lights and appliances for an hour from 8:30 pm on the last Saturday of March. This activity was started in 2007 in Sydney before it spread to every continent.
This year is the first time for Dezhou to take part in the activity. At 20:30 of March 27, when all the conventional landscape lamps were turned off, Dezhou did not sink into darkness. Thanks to the solar energy lighting, most of the streets and scenic spots were still lighted. In particular, the micro-emission hotel of Solar Valley stood out with its curvy lines like a fairy palace. At the same time, a concert themed ¡°gratitude to the sun¡± was staged at the front door of micro-emission hotel.
