Herbert Girardet

Herbert Girardet is Director of Research World Future Council Initiative.

In his work on 9 books and 50 documentaries on aspects of sustainable development he has seen first-hand the vast impacts of humanity on our home planet and still the very limited initiatives to counter them.
As a consultant he has been able to help shape the sustainability policies of major cities such as London, Vienna and Adelaide.
As an adviser to the Dongtan Eco-City Project on Chongming Island, Shanghai,
he is able to help shape key aspects of a world-leading project.
As a newly elected fellow of the UK Royal Commission on the Exhibition of 1851 he is in a position to further develop theory and practice of urban sustainability.
