Dieter Holm

Dieter Holm was trained as an architect and headed the Department of Architecture as well as the Research and Postgraduate Studies of the Division for Design and Management of the Built Environment at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Living with his family in their self-designed energy and water autonomous house, built in 1974, he believes in practicing what you preach.
Currently he is the ISES Vice President for Conferences.
In his paper it is highlighted that the greatest growth of energy demand is expected to take place in the Developing World. This offers unique opportunities but also grave risks. The role of ISES in jointly addressing these is illustrated.
